OUR STORY
Penny Smiles Foundation started in 2017 in a village called Ahwiren in Bekwai District in the Ashanti region of Ghana. The whole idea was conceived when our brother and director, Ernest Ayensu assisted a woman who was severely ill to secure the national health insurance card. The woman was able to access medical treatment after securing the NHIS card and got well. This instigated our brother and other like-minded people to extend the NHIS registration to the entire Ahwiren village and its environ. The first project that marked the inauguration of PSF was undertaken in Ahwiren, Esiase and its environ. During this project, the organization did NHIS registrations and renewals for a total of 120 individuals. The organization has since then been extending this and other services to many people across the country.
Our Mission
We serve as a conduit for the collection and distribution of funds intended to reduce poverty through planning skill-acquisition programs, providing food, water, clothing, and support for education and health.
Our Short Term Plan
- Supporting 5 orphanage homes with NHIS, fumigation and special Health needs
- Conduct a feasibility study on safe water situations in the Rural areas (with emphasis on drilling of boreholes)
- Conduct a feasibility study on educational needs in Rural areas. (With emphasis on provision of uniforms, bags and footwear and mentorship),
- Research into how we can contribute to NO HUNGER in the world especially Africa.
Our Vision
An international network of standardized infrastructure for facilitating and Empowering communities affected by poverty or natural disasters by providing essential amenities.
Partnership with well meaning organizations who share in our mission. and vision to put smiles on the faces of the deprived and make our world a better place. This is in line with SDG 17.
