Glory is to God almighty for yet another successful end-of-year project. The year 2022 has been very challenging to both individuals and the organization as a whole but one thing we are proud of as members is our willingness to respond to duty anytime we are called upon.
The MEGA TRIO PROJECTS came off on 29th December 2022 which saw the following members gracing the occasion Mr. Ernest Ayensu, Mr. Oteng Yaw Aboagye, Mr. Jewel Ansah, Mr. Timothy Gyan Owusu, Miss Mary Afari, Miss Matilda Agbesi, Miss Millicent Ayidzi, Miss Nusetor Comfort Akorfa, Janet Impraim, and Emmanuel Ebo Essel.
The journey began at 7:00 am when members started gathering together and at exactly 9:02 am the team set off to visit their first home which was VILLAGE OF HOPE – AYAWASO. The team got there and began engagement with one of the caretakers called Mr. Ernest Obeng at the premises who welcomed us. Mr. Ernest Ayensu gave us our mission of visiting them.
Mr. Obeng further engaged the team by giving an account and history of the home which was very interesting and heartfelt because it gave the team the sense to know the story, the dedication as well as the effort they are putting to make the living of the inhabitant feel at home as they get physical, emotional, and spiritual needs they sort to get.
Members of the team visiting enquired from Mr. Obeng by asking some questions which they received satisfactory answers. Items which constituted BEDSPREADS, 50kg OF CINDY RICE, BATHING SOAP, WASHING POWDER, MALE AND FEMALE underwear, EXERCISE BOOKS, POSTER COLOURS, GRAPH BOOKS, COOKING OIL, TIN TOMATOES, SECOND-HAND CLOTHS were presented to the home. These items were presented by Mr. Jewel Ansah Exodus.
The goods were received with much appreciation and a word of prayer was said for the team. The team also expressed their appreciation for the warm reception given and asked permission to leave since there was another journey before them.
The second Home visit was embarked on and the team reached VILLAGE OF HOPE – GOMOA FETTEH, equally warm reception was received as their in-charge was in anticipation awaiting our arrival. We arrived, pleasantries were given and the team introduced themselves individually.
Mr. Samuel Osei the in-charge reiterated the importance and the value our support constantly has been to the children and the Home at large. Likewise, the developmental agenda of the home was sold to us, what they have done so far and what they intend to achieve coming year. Early this year when we paid them a visit two buildings were under construction and it is refreshing to know that one is completed whiles the other is near completion and bravo was said to them by the Penny Smiles Foundation.
The team upon further discussion handed over their items like BEDSPREADS, 100kg OF CINDY RICE, BATHING SOAP, WASHING POWDER, MALE AND FEMALE UNDERWEAR, EXERCISE BOOKS, POSTER COLOURS, GRAPH BOOKS, COOKING OIL, TIN TOMATOES, SECOND-HAND CLOTHS to the home presentation was done by Miss Nusetor Comfort Akorfa, pictures were taken, prayers offered by the home to the foundation and finally, departure.
The third visit which was to “THE GHANA SOCIETY OF DISABILITY did not come off because the organization was not in a good position to receive Penny Smiles Foundation and their visit was rescheduled to 7th January, 2023. They request that we get them plastic chairs and Penny Smiles Foundation will definitely provide their needs for them accordingly. Penny smiles Foundation will therefore need about GHC 2,000.00 to execute such a task.
Team members got to their respective homes safely by God’s Grace and the day’s journey was brought to an end.
